Learning Facilitator
Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation is dedicated to providing engaging, historically accurate resources to support student learning. Along with programming that takes place at Jamestown Settlement and the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown, there are several opportunities for students to explore early Virginia and United States history virtually and through classroom outreach.
Job Duties
Learning Facilitators are responsible for presenting accurate, engaging education tours and programs in support of the mission and strategic goals of the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation. Learning Facilitators are core wage staff (1250 hours annually), responsible for providing quality programming for students of all ages and specific program development.
Minimum Qualifications
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Knowledge of or interest in 17th/18th century history and how it relates to today
Knowledge of or interest in current educational methodologies
Excellent customer service skills
Enjoys working with a diverse population of adults and children
Ability to learn and apply new information in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Knowledge of or interest in program development
Additional Considerations
Prior experience working in any type of educational environment may be helpful
