The Division of Workforce Solutions is currently working a Hybrid (onsite/offsite) Teleworking schedule.

 


The North Carolina Department of Commerceis the state's lead agency for economic, community, and workforce development.  The Department works with local, regional, national and international organizations to fulfill its mission to improve the economic well-being and quality of life for all North Carolinians.  The mission of the North Carolina Division of Workforce Solutions (DWS) is to develop North Carolina's workforce talent, help individuals advance their career opportunities, and meet business workforce needs by connecting talent to jobs. The DWS is responsible for administering federal workforce programs that help individuals gain skills and find employment, and help businesses find the workforce they need to be successful. Across the state, there are 80+ career centers which support individuals finding work and pursuing education and training and connect businesses with the well-trained, diverse talent they need. The centers are customer-centric, designed to meet the needs of customers, individuals and businesses.

The Foreign Labor Services Unit provides comprehensive employment, training, and supportive services to job seekers and employers.  Special emphasis is placed on services to Foreign Labor certification recipients to ensure that they are served comparably to the general applicant population.  Primary emphasis is placed on assisting employers with foreign labor certification petitions and applications for job openings not filled by domestic workers. 

The primary role of this position is to assist employers in submitting and processing job orders for H-2A (temporary agricultural workers) and H-2B (temporary non-agricultural workers) visa programs in compliance with state and federal labor laws.  The H-2A/H-2B Program Coordinator ensures that all job orders meet legal requirements and are accurately entered into the state workforce database accurately and timely.  Additionally, this position will ensure that required recruitment efforts are followed and documented and reported appropriately.  This position will work closely with employer partners to provide assistance and guidance including the filing process, documentation, and compliance standards.

Ability to organize and prioritize multiple duties simultaneously while working independently.

Ability to promptly manage time sensitive tasks.

Ability to correspond with various stakeholders, including state/federal authorities regarding the Foreign Labor Program.

Ability to work within local, state or federal policies and regulations.

Knowledge of managing Job Orders through NCWorks, including adding and editing entries.
