$90,314.96 per year
Regular, Full-Time
The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) mission is to inspire curiosity through engaging science learning experiences, foster experimentation and the exchange of ideas, and stimulate informed action. Join our team as the Director of Engagement and Annual Giving and be a part of igniting an education transformation at the intersection of science and technology that spreads opportunities across the Northwest!
The Director of Engagement & Annual Giving leads the strategy, planning, and implementation of OMSI’s donor engagement and stewardship initiatives, annual fund campaigns, and OMSI’s signature gala. This includes managing communications and activities that support donor cultivation, solicitation, and long-term engagement. The Director directs and implements a comprehensive calendar of events, communications, and other high-impact donor engagement opportunities designed to strengthen relationships and inspire philanthropic support.
The role manages stewardship activities—including the annual report, gift acknowledgments, and other recurring or customized donor touches—by collaborating across departments to ensure donors experience meaningful, mission-aligned interactions with OMSI. The Director also leads all annual fund efforts, including the year-end appeal, online giving campaigns, and other initiatives to attract new donors, and retain and upgrade existing supporters, with the goal of meeting or exceeding annual operating revenue targets and expanding the donor pipeline.
In collaboration with the Vice President of Development and Development leadership, the Director works to set the strategic direction, metrics, and revenue goals of the organization; build the philanthropic pipeline to meet and exceed goals in unrestricted and restricted giving; and create the systems and processes necessary to achieve sustainable, year-over-year growth in both revenue and donor participation.
The Director manages one staff member and the volunteers who support the gala, donor engagement, stewardship, and annual fund activities.
