Summer Associate

Position Type: Internship

Employer: Cooke & Bieler, L.P.

Title: Summer Associate

Description

Cooke & Bieler is an established, Philadelphia-based investment management firm with approximately $11 billion in assets under management. Founded in 1949, we are an independent, domestic equities manager focused on value investing and committed to bottom-up, fundamental research. A long-term investment horizon and attention to business quality underpin our differentiated perspective. The firm manages portfolios for a broad base of institutional clients – both domestic and international – and has a demonstrated track record of performance.

We are seeking highly qualified candidates for the Summer Associate position. This generalist internship is designed to provide insights into the full-time Associates rotational program, and to provide exposure to all of the key functions of a buy-side investment manager. Interns will work with the current full-time Associates on tasks within Marketing, Communications, and Compliance rotations, such as running attributions, creating client presentation books, checking invoices and client guidelines, completing RFPs and DDQs, and assisting with quarterly communications. Beyond their primary responsibilities, candidates may participate in additional tasks or projects as needed by the partners and other members of the firm, such as attending meetings with portfolio managers or client service representatives, conducting research on individual securities as well as the market as a whole, and analyzing client data. Candidates will be expected to assume a high degree of responsibility and show initiative early on. The ideal candidates will be able to commit 10 weeks to the internship, beginning in June and finishing in August. Successful interns will be considered for full-time employment after graduation.

Cooke & Bieler is committed to promoting diversity in the workplace. We believe that having a wide range of backgrounds and perspectives is essential to our intellectually rigorous environment and our unique culture, so all majors will be considered. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis; candidates are strongly encouraged to apply ahead of the deadline.
