Position description:

Summer Analysts work alongside the Whipstitch team in several key aspects of the investment banking process, including support for our sell-side, buy-side and private placement advisory work on behalf of a broad base of top-tier clients. Specifically, Summer Analysts work with every member of the Whipstitch Team supporting multiple clients and projects simultaneously. This opportunity provides an immersive and intensive learning experience in M&A deal execution with strong opportunity for career advancement at the firm. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Ability to gain an accelerated and deep understanding of consumer-packaged goods industry related topics;
  • Conducting comparable transaction analyses on various consumer sectors;
  • Assist with building confidential information memorandums for clients and conduct data analyses as needed;
  • Researching consumer trends and creating a data-based report/presentation about it;
  • Learning how Whipstitch conducts pre-client diligence including financial and market analysis;
  • Understanding, at a high-level, how to build financial models; and
  • Attending a Whipstitch offsite event/retreat – dependent on timing.

Please note, this is not a “hide-behind -the-desk” job – we encourage and expect our Summer Analysts to provide an opinion (even if different from colleagues) and to aid in building the Whipstitch brand. 

Skills and qualification requirements:

  • A rising senior in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree expecting to graduate in Spring 2027; a focus on business, economics, data, or finance is a plus
  • Data-focused: Ability to synthesize, interpret and summarize large datasets in Excel efficiently, Tableau is a plus
  • Strong PowerPoint skills: Demonstrated ability to create materials for clients, industry presentations, and panel events
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented demeanor with a keen, innate ability to proactively manage ongoing communications with multiple individuals and handle numerous tasks simultaneously
  • Demonstrated interest in consumer brands and trends
  • Team player displaying leadership and collaboration abilities – as we say at Whipstitch, “no ego allowed – we are one team”

Compensation:
