R&D Engineer
At Delsys, we develop innovative, human-centric sensing technologies that advance health science, human performance, and rehabilitation research. We are seeking an R&D Engineer who is passionate about designing algorithms that translate multi-modal data into actionable outcomes to provide new insights into human movement and physiology.
As an R&D Engineer, you will contribute to the design and implementation of computer vision/signal processing methods and computational tools that transform complex human signals into meaningful, actionable information. Working in close collaboration with scientists, engineers, and clinical researchers, you will gain hands-on experience translating research into practical solutions with broad impact
Responsibilities:
• Design and implement signal processing and computer vision algorithms to extract relevant features from physiological signals collected via multi-modal hardware platforms (wearable and non-contact sensing modalities).
• Develop algorithms (e.g., pattern recognition, classification, or model-based methods) to characterize and track human biomechanics, physiology, speech, and motor control.
• Develop metrics and error analysis frameworks to evaluate algorithm performance. Prototype, benchmark and refine algorithms to balance accuracy, speed, and efficiency.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to integrate algorithms into hardware prototypes and evaluate performance in real-world applications.
Requirements
• Currently pursuing or have a BS or MS in robotics, computer or electrical engineering, computer science, physics, or a related technical field.
• Proficient in Python (C++ experience is a plus).
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Experience with signal processing and/or computer vision concepts and techniques.
• Familiarity with machine learning (pytorch, scikit-learn) and numerical methods concepts and frameworks.
• Experience with hardware platforms (NVIDIA Jetson) is a plus.
• Experience with version control and CLI is a plus.
