The Office of State Senator Becca Rausch is accepting applications for the Spring

Senator Rausch is a champion of progressive issues and currently serves as Chair of the Committee on the Environment & Natural Resources as well as the Chair on Municipalities and Regional Governments. She represents the Norfolk, Worcester, and Middlesex district, which includes the towns of Bellingham, Dover, Franklin, Medfield, Milford, Millis, Needham, Norfolk, Plainville, Sherborn, and Wrentham. 

The Internship offers a comprehensive introduction of the Massachusetts Senate to students, with exposure to policy, communications, constituent services, office administration, and more.

Description: Recently re-elected to her fourth term in the Massachusetts State Senate, Senator Becca Rausch (D-Needham) is a proven champion of intersectional equity, strengthening our democracy, and stellar service to her constituents. Interns will collaborate to advance these objectives and support the Senator’s district through projects in communications, constituent services, and policy development. Applicants must have completed at least one semester of college to be eligible for this internship. This internship is part time with a preference for in person availability. 

Compensation: We will work with successful applicants to secure outside funding and/or class credit.

Intern projects may include: 

  • Preparing social media content 
  • Outlining and drafting press releases 
  • Proposing and working to implement new ideas for community engagement 
  •  Attending briefings and committee and hearings 
  • Compiling press clips and coverage 
  • Updating the Senator’s website 
  • Drafting newsletter content 
  • Developing constituent communications 
  • Conducting general administrative work
