Bike Trip Leader

Teen Treks is looking for enthusiastic bike trip leaders possessing good sense, tireless energy, and a great enthusiasm for travel.

Teen Treks is a summer bicycle touring program for youth ages 12-18. Our trips are 1-8 weeks long and we travel in small groups of 10 teens with 2 trip leaders.

Our trips cycle throughout popular touring locations in Europe, the US, and Canada, camping outdoors and staying in hostels along the way.

We expect our leaders to treat each youth with respect and professionalism. Offering the teens guidance when necessary, yet encouraging healthy independence and growth.

Requirements

• Attend a required 5-day leadership training in Buffalo, NY in June 2026
• Experience working with teenagers.
• A love of biking and outdoor adventures
• Must be a positive role model in the lives of teens
• Basic understanding of bike mechanics (we can teach you the more advanced stuff)

Essential Skills

• Travel savviness
• Creating positive group dynamics amongst a team of teenagers
• Be able to bike in the outdoors during the summer and camp outside on a regular basis
• Strategic problem solving, thinking on-the-fly

Expected Responsibilities

• Oversee a group of up to ten teenagers for 1-8 weeks, depending on the trip
• Communicate regularly with the Teen Treks office
• Manage a trip budget
• Oversee teenagers as they take on daily roles
• Create trusting relationships with the parents of teens on your trip

Leader Pay

All of your expenses are paid while leading for Teen Treks (accommodations, food, activities and transportation.) In addition, we pay a stipend of $400 per week plus a bonus of up to $200 per week.
