Fare Revenue Accountant

Under the direction of the Controller, the Fare Revenue Accountant is responsible for maintaining ticket vending machines owned by GDRTA. Performing maintenance on the TVMs and ensuring machines are functioning properly. Coordinates the processing and delivery of bulk purchase orders received from businesses in the Montgomery County region. 

 

Essential Functions: 

  • Electronic Systems: Maintain vending inventories, ordering repair parts and keeping service records.
  • Respond to service calls by taking a preliminary visual survey to determine the nature of the issue.
  • Perform various systems check within the machine to assist in troubleshooting issues. 
  • Contact vendor as needed to correct issue(s).
  • Maintains inventory of fare media and restocks TVM’s when necessary.
  • Monitors status of TVM’s including card stock, cash boxes and operational status.
  • Removes cash boxes weekly, gathers deposit information from tape in TVM for deposit preparation.
  • Monitors and supplies cash boxes with appropriate bill types to accommodate activity.
  • Coordinates with internal departments to determine quantity and type of stock needed and determines re-order levels.
  • Communicate with team members including management updates on TVM performance and usage.
  • Maintains Accounts Receivable email daily for bulk purchase orders. 
  • Issue invoices to bulk purchase customers and prepare Ultralight cards for pick up or delivery. 
  • Knowledge of, and/or willingness to learn software programs specific to the accounting department. 
  • Knowledge or experience testing and/or managing fare system changes. 
  • Assist in the implementation of EMV payment method and maintain ongoing technical support. 
  • Create and generate revenue financial reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs), and support decision-making using tools like Excel or Power BI for management.
