Paraeducator Support Specialist
This position supports our commitment to fostering a Christ-centered, inclusive learning environment for all students. The Paraeducator will work closely with the SPED team to assist students in Guided Studies classes and provide 1:1 or small-group support in general education classrooms.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Support students in Guided Studies classes by reinforcing instruction, helping with assignments, and promoting executive functioning skills.
- Provide 1:1 or small-group support to students with learning needs, both in the Guided Studies setting and in general education classrooms.
- Collaborate with teachers to implement accommodations and modifications outlined in student learning plans.
- Encourage positive academic habits, organization, and self-advocacy skills.
- Help maintain a structured, supportive, and caring environment consistent with the Catholic mission of St. Pius X High School.
- Communicate regularly with the SPED team regarding student progress and needs.
- Assist with supervision duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education
- Must have a love for learning
- Organization is key
- Genuinely care for students
- Be an effective classroom manager
- Trained in Protecting God’s Children, or willing to be trained
- Practicing Catholic in good standing is preferred, but not required
