Job Title: Paralegal – Surety Law
Location: Plano, TX (Hybrid: In-office with option to work remotely 1–2 days per week)

Position Summary:
The Paralegal will support 6 attorneys in handling surety and construction-related matters. This role is ideal for someone with some prior legal experience who is eager to expand their skills in litigation support, document management, and case coordination. The right candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and adaptable to shifting priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, proofread, and file motions, pleadings and other court documents in compliance with court rules and deadlines.
- Assist with discovery by collecting, organizing, and producing documents accurately and on time.
- Assist with trial preparation including the assembly of exhibits, witness binders, and appendices for depositions and court filings.
- Maintain case files, calendars, and docketing systems to ensure deadlines are met.
- Track and record billable time accurately on a daily basis.
- Provide administrative support to attorneys, including correspondence, scheduling, and file management.
- Handle mailing, printing, and other clerical tasks both in-office and remotely.
- Communicate and coordinate professionally with courts, clients, and opposing counsel as directed.
- Adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will:
- Bring 4+ years of legal or paralegal experience in a law firm or litigation environment (surety experience a plus but not required).
- Demonstrate familiarity with filing pleadings and navigating basic litigation procedures.
- Manage time effectively, stay organized, and prioritize competing tasks with confidence.
- Demonstrated proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to quickly adapt to new legal practice management software.
- Conduct efficient legal research using recognized tools and resources to identify relevant case law, statutes, and procedural rules.
- Proofread and review legal documents carefully to catch errors, inconsistencies, or omissions before filing.
- Communicate clearly and professionally in both written and verbal formats.
- Work independently, show initiative, and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all work.
- Function effectively in a hybrid environment, including remote work 1–2 days per week, with reliable internet and access to printing and mailing resources.
