Position Overview
Bondo Law is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Part-Time Paralegal to support attorneys in all phases of New Jersey real estate transactions, estate planning, and probate matters. This position is well-suited for a paralegal who can work independently, manage files from start to finish, and serve as a key point of contact for clients, courts, and third parties.
Key Responsibilities
Real Estate Paralegal Duties (New Jersey)
Manage NJ residential and commercial real estate files from contract execution through closing
Review contracts, riders, title commitments, surveys, and lender documents
Prepare and assemble closing documents
Coordinate with title companies, lenders, realtors, municipal offices, and opposing counsel
Schedule and prepare for closings; draft closing statements as directed
Submit and track documents for recording with New Jersey County Clerks
Maintain detailed transaction checklists and ensure compliance with NJ practice requirements
Estate Planning Paralegal Duties
Draft estate planning documents for attorney review, including:
Wills
Revocable and irrevocable trusts
Powers of attorney
Advance healthcare directives
Coordinate execution of estate planning documents and manage client signing appointments
Maintain organized estate planning files and document versions
Probate & Estate Administration (New Jersey)
Prepare and file probate applications with New Jersey Surrogate’s Offices
Draft and process applications for probate
File and manage matters through NJ eCourts where applicable
Assist with estate administration, including asset collection, correspondence with financial institutions, and preparation of inventories and informal accountings
Track deadlines and ongoing estate administration tasks
General Paralegal & Case Management
Draft routine correspondence and legal documents
Serve as a point of contact for clients, beneficiaries, and third parties
Maintain electronic and physical client files
Manage calendars, deadlines, and tickler systems
Ensure confidentiality and compliance with ethical and procedural requirements
Support attorneys with case preparation and matter organization
Qualifications
Paralegal certificate or experience preferred, but not required
Prior experience in New Jersey real estate transactions and/or NJ probate matters preferred
Familiarity with NJ Surrogate’s Court procedures and county recording practices
Strong drafting, organizational, and time-management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple matters simultaneously
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal practice management software
Social Media and marketing skills helpful
