Associate Designer

Position Overview

The Associate Designer is responsible for supporting architectural projects from concept through completion. This role involves independent design development, coordination with multi-disciplinary teams, and some oversight of project implementation. The ideal candidate has a Master of Architecture degree and an advanced understanding of architectural theory, design processes, and building technology. The Associate Designer will work on diverse projects, contributing creative and technical expertise to produce innovative design solutions.

 

Your Role

  • Actively participate in aspects of a project, including design conceptualization, visualization, programming, architectural and interior design, research, design/document production, construction administration, collaboration with the project team, coordination with owners, consultants, and contractors through all design and delivery phases.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, consultants, and contractors to implement design as intended.
  • Assist with the preparation of construction drawings, construction detailing, and specification writing.
  • Assist in the construction administration phase by reviewing submittals and attending site visits.
  • Prepare finish material graphic presentations and participate in client meetings.
  • Work with intermediate or senior-level staff to review work for intent, quality, and precision.

 

Your Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Architecture.
  • A licensed architect (or someone working toward licensure) is preferred.
  • 2–5 years of work experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in architectural software (AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent design and visualization skills with a strong portfolio demonstrating conceptual and technical expertise.
  • Knowledge of sustainable design practices and building codes.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to work independently and within a team.
