Summer School Teaching Assistant

PRIMARY PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Participate in daily and long-range lesson and classroom activity planning.
• Under the direction of a certified teacher, Provides instruction to students.
• Alerts the teacher to special needs of individual children.
• Provides escorts and assistance to children as necessary.
• Help maintain individual records for each child.
• Assists teacher in providing whole group, small group or individual instruction.
• Supports student behavior management.
• Assists in the collection of data.
• Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• New York State Teaching Assistant Certification.
• Understanding of Special Needs Students.
• Excellent speaking, written, and listening skills.
• Must be available every day of Summer School.
