Summer Engineering Intern
Chippewa County, Minnesota is seeking applications for a summer intern in our Highway Department. Under general supervision, the Engineering Intern is responsible for performing civil engineering work in the field and office. The work includes preliminary and construction surveying, construction inspection, and data collection. This position is being offered at a range of $21.66 - $23.68/hour.
Professional/Technical Duties and Responsibilities: Operates GPS electronic survey equipment, level, and other survey equipment for preliminary survey and construction purposes/Inspects and documents progress of construction projects, in accordance with current Federal, State and Local regulations, rules, specifications and standards/Receives, reviews, prepares and maintains records and reports for projects.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices and methods/Skill in using relevant technology/Ability to maintain accurate files and records/Skills in operating computers and relevant software.
Minimum Requirements: Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D/Minimum of one (1) year vocational or college course work in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, Land Surveying, Construction Management, or related field of study.
