Controls Engineer
Job Description:
Aerobotix is seeking an entry-level Controls Engineer to design, build, and install turnkey robotic systems and automated process equipment within the aerospace, military, and general manufacturing industries. The candidate should be self-motivated and capable of working both independently and as part of a team. This position reports to the Principal Engineer.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Install and validate support at the customer’s facility
- Work with the engineering team to develop turnkey automated robotic solutions
- Identify and select electrical components and software needed for projects
- Develop electrical schematics and CAD models for equipment and panel builds
- Develop HMI and PLC software
- Integrate 3rd-party software in a standard HMI solution
- Shop testing and debugging of as-built systems
- Support customer acceptance and buy-off
- Install and validate support at the customer’s facility
Required Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Acquire and maintain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience operating machine tools (mill, lathe, drill, etc.) a plus
- B.S. Degree in Automation and Systems Integration Engineering technology or related field.
- Experience with control systems and visualization software, particularly Allen-Bradley and Rockwell Software
- Experience with a 3D parametric CAD package such as SolidWorks, PTC Creo, etc.
- Project management and multitasking skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability and willingness to work in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally
- Experience with database design and implementation a plus
- Experience or willingness to learn web-based development software a plus
