Overview
Courthouse Computer Systems is seeking a Technical Support Specialist to provide application and technical support for our proprietary enterprise software used by government agencies nationwide. This role is ideal for a customer-focused, technically curious professional who enjoys troubleshooting, learning new technologies, and making a meaningful impact.
Our software supports land records and vital records management, helping safeguard critical public data. Reliability, service, and continuous improvement are at the core of what we do.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide prompt, professional phone and email technical support
- Troubleshoot enterprise software, Windows environments, scanners, printers, and peripherals
- Install and configure proprietary software on new devices
- Analyze data and system behavior to identify root causes of issues
- Track, manage, and resolve customer requests using a ticketing system
- Create and maintain internal and customer-facing documentation
- Test software releases prior to deployment in collaboration with Development
- Identify recurring issues and recommend improvements
- Escalate issues appropriately using sound technical judgment
You are often the first point of contact for customers—your professionalism directly shapes their experience.
Technical Environment
- Windows operating systems
- Enterprise / proprietary software applications
- Remote support tools
- Ticketing systems
- Scanners, printers, and third-party integrations
- SQL Server / MySQL (preferred)
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure – preferred)
- Active Directory, IIS, virtualization (preferred)
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of technical support experience (phone and remote troubleshooting)
- 2+ years supporting custom or enterprise software systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
- Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree in IT/Computer/Technical field with relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications
- QA testing or software validation experience
- SQL querying and data troubleshooting experience
- Experience working with County or Local Government IT departments
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, or systems administration
- Willingness to occasionally assist outside normal business hours
Work Environment
- Onsite position in Ashland KY
- Full-time, Monday–Friday
- Less than 15% travel for occasional on-site customer support
- Ongoing learning through training, QA testing, ticket reviews, and documentation
