Maintenance Worker (Reston)

Position Title: Maintenance Worker 

Location: Area 6 maintenance shop, 1410 Hunter Mill Rd, Vienna, VA. 22182

Hours: Weekend and holiday work starting in mid-March and ending in mid-November consisting of 16-24 hours per week. Could include weekday work, as available. 

Salary: $20.50 per hour.  

 

Overview: This position reports to Area 6, and is dispatched to work locations throughout Great Falls, Herndon, and Reston. (vehicle provided)

 

Duties:  

  • Responsible for keeping park property including but not limited to athletic fields, grounds, and picnic rental shelter clean and safe for patrons.  
  • Collecting trash from receptacles and or grounds then transporting for disposal, inspecting restrooms and other facilities. 
  • Inspect facilities each shift and document findings. Interacts with public to provide information about facilities and enforce the park rules. 
  • All other duties as assigned.  

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Driver’s License (required). 
  • Ability to climb on and off equipment.  
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.  
  • Ability to operate motor vehicles. 
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time. 
  • Ability to work in inclement weather and traverse uneven terrain. 
  • All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.

  •  The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check and driver’s license check to the satisfaction of the employer.
