Join a premier, multidisciplinary consulting firm with a 30-year legacy of excellence in planning, engineering, and surveying. With a heavy focus on repeat clientele and a diverse project portfolio spanning 10 states, we offer a stable yet dynamic environment for young professionals. We pride ourselves on a “no-suit,” laid-back culture that prioritizes direct mentorship and long-term professional growth.

Position Summary

We are seeking a self-motivated Civil Engineer (E.I.T.) to join our team in the St. Croix Valley. This is a high-growth role designed for a "career-track" engineer who aspires to move into Project Management. You will work directly with Project Managers on an incredible variety of projects—ranging from $20k local developments to multi-million dollar industrial, healthcare, agricultural, and municipal initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Drafting: Prepare detailed construction plans and specifications utilizing Civil 3D as the primary design tool.

Project Variety: Support diverse site development projects including grading, erosion control, stormwater management, and municipal sewer/water systems.

Field Engagement: Perform on-site observations and inspections to ensure construction aligns with design specifications, gaining valuable "real-world" experience.

Collaboration: Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to handle multiple projects simultaneously across various sectors (Industrial, Residential, Retail, and Infrastructure).

Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (or a related field).

Certification: E.I.T. (Engineer-in-Training) or on the immediate track for PE licensure.

Technical Skills: Fluency in Civil 3D is a must (acquired via internships, previous roles, or intensive school projects).

Experience: 0–4 years in civil design or construction-related projects.

Soft Skills: Strong work ethic, high attention to detail, and the resilience to thrive during high-pressure deadline periods.

Logistics: Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required for site visits. This is an in-office position based in the St. Croix Valley area (standard hours 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM).

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $70,000 – $85,000 (negotiable based on experience).

Overtime: Straight-time pay for all hours worked over 40 (paid/reimbursed quarterly).

Incentives: Eligible for annual profit sharing and performance incentives based on department profitability.

Schedule: Average of 45 hours per week, flexing up to 50 hours when meeting critical project deadlines.

The Perks: Competitive benefits package and a social culture featuring 2–3 company-wide outings per year.

Why Join This Team?

Unlike many large corporate firms in the Twin Cities, we offer true project diversity. You won't be siloed into a single niche; you will gain exposure to everything from bridge work to complex agricultural and industrial site developments. We offer a stable, mentored path to becoming a licensed P.E. in a firm that treats its employees like peers, not just "numbers."
