About Alphius

Alphius is building cloud-native backend systems on Microsoft Azure. Our platform focuses on scalable APIs, background processing, and distributed cloud architecture.

We are looking for a Backend Engineering Intern who wants hands-on experience building real production systems — not just academic projects.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and extend backend APIs using Python and Django
  • Build background tasks using Celery and Redis
  • Optimize PostgreSQL queries and improve performance
  • Work with Azure services including App Service, Blob Storage, and Service Bus
  • Assist with Docker-based deployments
  • Debug and monitor applications using Azure Application Insights
  • Participate in code reviews and Agile development cycles
  • You will work directly with experienced engineers and contribute to live production systems.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • Strong Python fundamentals
  • Experience with Django or Flask (coursework or personal projects welcome)
  • Understanding of REST APIs
  • Familiarity with Git
  • Comfortable working in Linux environments

 

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure or AWS)
  • Experience with Docker
  • Knowledge of PostgreSQL
  • Basic understanding of authentication (JWT, OAuth, RBAC)

Internship Details

  • Paid position ($1,200-$2,200 monthly)
  • Remote
  • Flexible hours (15–25 hours per week during semester; 30–40 during summer)
