Finance Internship
City Hall Finance Department is looking to fill the role of finance intern. As a Finance Intern, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced finance employees while gaining exposure to various aspects of financial operations.
Essential Duties:
- Learn the operations and complexity of governmental accounting
- Shadow accounting functions such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Utility Billing.
- Work with the Utility Billing/AR Supervisor on processes & daily operations
- Assist in updating the Utility Billing Standard Operating Procedure Handbook
Typical Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge in finance / accounting
- Completion of one year of education in a finance related technical program, finance degree program, or related field
- Possession of a valid and unrestricted MN driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Good verbal and written communications skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
- A flexible working style and the ability to work independently
- Detail oriented, thorough, and well organized
Pay range of $18.32-$20.50 per hour, DOQ. 20 hours/week minimum, 12-16 weeks.
Primarily an in-office position with flexible hours.
Opportunity to fulfill college/university internship requirements.
