Research & Operations Analyst

Research & Operations Analyst

Location: Remote

The Company:
The Regulatory Fundamentals Group LLC (RFG) is a trusted advisor to 31 of the nation’s leading nonprofit investment offices, representing client NAVs ranging from $1 billion to over $100 billion. Our consortium includes top-tier universities, foundations, and research hospitals, united by the common goal of navigating the complex intersection of finance, policy, law, and regulation. Through our services, we empower cross-functional collaboration among CIOs and their investment, legal, operations, finance, compliance, and government affairs teams with timely, actionable intelligence.

As the only organization dedicated exclusively to the unique needs of nonprofit investment offices, RFG brings unparalleled insight into the intricate nonprofit and financial services landscape. Unlike firms that focus narrowly on investments, operations, contracts, compliance, or regulatory matters, RFG offers an integrated, process-oriented approach that anticipates how key developments impact all aspects of an investment office. No other provider has so thoroughly baselined and documented the challenges faced by nonprofits managing complex, bespoke investments—whether through private funds, SMAs, or global structures.

RFG membership includes access to:
● A weekly thought-leadership newsletter addressing legal, regulatory, and operational issues
tailored to nonprofit investment teams.
● In-person member meetings that deliver high-value insights and foster deep peer relationships.
● Live webinars and peer discussions on pressing issues, featuring top experts and candid
conversations on how peers are responding.
● A comprehensive resource library with over 200 white papers, training decks, and webinar
recordings covering key topics like U.S.-China relations, investing in India, and national security considerations.
● RFG Pathfinder®, our proprietary online intelligence system: a dynamic database outlining the U.S. laws and regulations relevant to charitable organizations and their investment managers. Pathfinder delivers expert-level insights on how seasoned professionals would navigate emerging opportunities or complex compliance questions.

RFG is a respected, fast-paced organization powered by a small, collegial team that thrives on intellectual rigor, client service, and making an impact within a mission-driven investment landscape.

Position Overview:

artificial intelligence tools to enhance research efficiency, synthesis, and internal workflows. The analyst will also assist with RFG’s diligence-related work with members, including communicating with clients to gather feedback on RFG’s diligence materials, helping identify priority diligence
topics, refining diligence questions and areas of focus, and staying current on important regulatory, operational, and governance issues relevant to nonprofit investment offices.

facing.”

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
● Assist both the news and marketing teams on project management and deliverables.
● For the news team, efforts will include in-depth research on regulatory, tax, and investment topics
relevant to nonprofit organizations and their investment managers, as well as assisting with copywriting and content creation for internal and external communications.
● Support internal initiatives to improve how the RFG team uses artificial intelligence tools to enhance research efficiency, synthesis, and internal workflows.
● Assist with diligence-related research and member communications, including tracking emerging diligence topics, helping refine diligence questions and areas of focus, and staying current on regulatory, operational, and governance issues relevant to nonprofit investment offices.
● Communicate with RFG members, under the direction of senior staff, to gather feedback on RFG’s diligence materials and help incorporate client input into evolving diligence topics, questions, and reference materials.
● For the marketing team, assist with correspondence and scheduling with current and potential clients.
● Provide executive assistance to the CEO and other senior staff, including scheduling, correspondence, and project coordination.
● Assist with event planning for two in-person conferences per year.
● Support the development of presentations and reports; graphic design skills are a plus.
● Manage multiple projects and deadlines independently in a fast-paced, remote environment.
● Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to take on a wide range of assignments as needed.
● Maintain discretion and uphold strict client confidentiality at all times.

Ideal Candidate:
