Special Education Resource Teacher
Performance Responsibilities:
The specific duties and responsibilities of Special Education teachers shall include, but not be limited to:
1. serve as a member of a multidisciplinary team to screen, diagnose, and recommend placement for the special needs of the child;
2. participate in multidisciplinary staffings to help determine the child's behavioral and academic needs;
3. develop and implement students' Individualized Education Plan;
4. monitor educational and psychological adjustment to insure that the child's needs are met appropriately;
5. provide a therapeutic, supportive environment to assist students with their specific behavioral and academic needs;
Qualifications:
- Must have experience with students with a variety of disabilities, including students with behavior disorders and other learning and cognitive delays
- Must possess a valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a LBS1 Endorsement for K-12
