University Program Council Graduate Assistant

UPC NEBRASKA MISSION AND PURPOSE: The University Program Council (UPC Nebraska) is a Recognized Student Organization that provides diverse, educational, and entertaining events to enhance the Nebraska community. UPC Nebraska is funded by University Programs and Facilities Fees (UPFF).

Job Title: Graduate Assistant for 2026-2027

Hours Per Week: 19.6 

Position Reports: Isabella Flamel, Program Coordinator for Student Leadership, Involvement, and Community Engagement (SLICE) 

Work Location: UPC Nebraska Office, 134 Nebraska Union, 1400 R Street, Lincoln, NE 68588 

Compensation: $1,705 monthly stipend plus tuition remission (up to 24 credit hours), and subsidized health insurance 

Contracted Work Dates: Monday, August 10, 2026 - Friday, May 14, 2027  

There is potential for a 2027-2028 renewal based on performance. 

Basic Function: Assist in the development, implementation, advising, and evaluation of UPC Nebraska events and activities, as well as fostering an environment that engages and unites the student body. 

 

Responsibilities 

Co-advise the entire UPC Nebraska Executive Board (Officers: President, Vice President of Administration, Vice President of Programming, Vice President of Finance, Directors of Events, Director of Public Relations, and Director of Membership.). 

Supervise and assist in the coordination of all UPC events. 

[NOTE: We primarily hold events during the evening hours and weekends, which include large-scale concerts, educational speakers, novelties, make and take, films, etc.]  

Serve on the Advising Team (Program Coordinator, Graduate Assistant, President, VP of Administration and Director of Membership) 

Attend Tuesday night meetings from 6PM-9PM with the Executive Board and General Council. 

Assist with event planning, facilitation, and attending UPC development events, including but not limited to, retreats, interviews, event selection, banquets, organization fundraisers, and other time sensitive meetings. 

Hold open UPC office hours and one-on-one meetings with Executive Board members and Program Coordinator. 

Administer and interpret policies with respect to UPC Nebraska contracts, negotiations, licensing, and copyrights when working with agents, speakers, and performers. 

Contribute to the assessment plan for SLICE with UPC Nebraska through Husker GROW and other assessment initiatives. 

Provide support and guidance for the organizational, personal, and professional development of the UPC members. 

Attend the NACA Live (National Convention) with UPC Delegates (all expenses covered by UPC). The NACA Conference will be held in Columbus, Ohio on February 19-22, 2027. 

Assist in the development of collaborative projects with other campus offices, departments, and divisions as opportunities arise to help achieve strategic goals. 

Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as requested by the UPC Program Coordinator.
