Entry Level Draftsperson

Young and Borlik Architects, Inc. is currently seeking to fill a full time position that offers experience in all aspects of project development – from initial design concepts through working drawings and the completion of construction. The ideal candidate will have excellent design and graphic skills, and be adept at communicating directly with clients, city officials, and contractors, and have some experience with AutoCad.

As an entry level draftsperson and intern architect, this position would involve a variety of supporting roles, with opportunity to expand involvement and responsibility with projects as experience and performance can merit. This includes but is not limited to the following responsibilities:

·        Architectural design, detailing and coordination.

·        AutoCad drafting of design and construction documents.

·        Field measurement/documentation of project sites, floor plans, crawlspaces/attics, etc.

·        Assistance with city correspondence and plan checks.

·        Client meetings and correspondence.

·        Drafting of design and Construction Plans.

·        Presentation sketches, perspectives, rendering, model making, etc.

·        Office organization, including management of files and archives for plans, building product library, etc.

·        Consultant communication and coordination.

·        Other duties associated with all aspects of residential projects.

·        Use of common sense is expected and required, especially with respect to legal issues, interoffice relations, personal use of office property, etc.
