THE OPPORTUNITY

Esperanza Academy is seeking a mission-driven, compassionate, and experienced School Psychologist to provide comprehensive psychological services that support the academic, emotional, and behavioral success of all students. This full-time position offers the opportunity to make a profound impact in a diverse, multilingual school community committed to holistic student development.

As a School Psychologist, you will play a vital role in evaluating students for special education services, delivering culturally responsive counseling, leading crisis intervention, and collaborating with staff and families to ensure student success. Spanish language fluency is required to meet the needs of our bilingual student population.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations for students being referred for special education or re-evaluation services.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to interpret data, determine eligibility, and develop evidence-based recommendations.
• Provide bilingual individual and group counseling that supports students' mental health, behavior, and academic development.
• Deliver culturally responsive crisis intervention services and risk assessments as needed.
• Consult regularly with educators, administrators, and families to implement behavior interventions and student supports.
• Facilitate IEP, MTSS, and Student Support Team meetings, ensuring psychological input informs decision-making.
• Maintain thorough and confidential student records following professional standards and school policies.
• Offer professional development to staff on trauma-informed practices, SEL strategies, and behavioral supports.
• Help lead school-wide efforts around restorative practices, PBIS, and social-emotional learning.
• Connect families with outside agencies and community-based mental health services when needed.
• Remain up to date on best practices, legal requirements, and tools related to school psychology.

What you will bring: 

• A deep belief in Esperanza Academy’s mission and the power of equitable access to mental health support for all students.
• A Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from an accredited institution. (Official transcripts showing the degree conferred are required before the start date.)
• Valid Pennsylvania Psychologist licensure.
• PA certification: School Psychologist PK–12 (CSPG 81), or willingness to obtain it.
• Current FBI, PA Criminal, and Child Abuse background checks completed within the last 12 months.
• Experience working in an urban school or charter school setting is preferred.
• Spanish fluency is preferred but not required.
