Physical Therapist/Assistant
Unleash Your Inner Healer: Physical Therapist/Assistant at Sundance Circle Hippotherapy
Do you have a passion for helping others achieve their full potential? Are you looking for a career that's as unique and rewarding as the individuals you'll be working with? Then saddle up for an incredible opportunity at Sundance Circle Hippotherapy!
We're not your typical therapy clinic. At Sundance Circle, we harness the incredible power of horses to transform lives. Established in 2017, we're a close-knit team dedicated to providing innovative hippotherapy treatment to both children and adults. We work with a diverse range of individuals, including those with Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Genetic Syndromes, and much more, helping them develop essential daily living skills and improve their overall well-being. Our amazing horses and dedicated team of volunteers are ready to welcome you!
Imagine: You'll be more than just a therapist – you'll be a catalyst for change. Working alongside our Clinical Director, you'll have the opportunity to build your own client list and make a real difference in the lives of those seeking a non-traditional approach to therapy. While a passion for innovative treatment methods is a must, prior experience with horses is a plus but not required – we'll help you learn the ropes! A solid understanding of hippotherapy theory is essential, and completion of AHA Treatment Principles Part One is required (before starting work).
What you'll do:
- Empowerment through Movement: Evaluate patients (PT), develop personalized treatment plans, and guide them on their journey to greater independence through the unique benefits of hippotherapy.
- Collaboration & Connection: Work closely with patients, families, our supportive team, and our amazing herd of horses.
- Documentation & Dedication: Maintain accurate records, track progress, and ensure the highest standards of practice are upheld.
- Growth & Innovation: Contribute to program development, performance improvement, and community outreach.
- Lead & Inspire: Oversee therapy assistants (PT) and students, sharing your knowledge and passion for hippotherapy.
What you'll bring:
- A degree from an accredited school and all necessary National and Washington State certifications and licenses.
- Completion of American Hippotherapy Association Treatment Principles Part One.
- An understanding of the principles and practice of hippotherapy/equine-assisted therapy.
- A passion for advocating for hippotherapy/equine-assisted therapy.
- A collaborative spirit and a commitment to teamwork.
- Physical fitness and the ability to meet the physical demands of the role (lifting, assisting patients, walking on uneven surfaces, etc. – see full description below).
