The studio internship program is an integral part of Arrowmont's operations and provides an opportunity for someone to work alongside programming staff over the course of seven weeks. This department houses 9 studios across campus and facilitates national workshops and community programming. Studio interns work closely with Arrowmont’s full-time studio technicians to maintain the studios and any programs happening within them, as well as occasionally assisting with lock up and evening programs.

Knowledge in studio maintenance and/or background in at least one of the following is required: ceramics, 2D, fibers, textiles, wood, metals, sculpture. The studio intern will receive housing on campus for the duration of their internship, with a maximum of one roommate.

A work week consists of 40 hours with two days off (non-consecutive), and working weekends is required. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided by our dining hall when it is open during class sessions. If the dining hall is closed during a week of the internship, a food stipend of $75/week will be provided. A modest weekly stipend of $200/week is provided for personal expenses, and one week of class tuition will be awarded for the Fall Studio intern.

We ask that the Fall Intern commits to seven weeks of Arrowmont’s Fall National Workshop season (September 21 – November 6, 2026).
