JOB SUMMARY:
We are currently seeking dedicated Intervention Specialists to join our team. Successful candidates will play a crucial role in providing tailored educational support to students with disabilities, ensuring their academic success and fostering a positive learning environment. The Intervention Specialists will collaborate with the IEP team, parents, and staff to create effective learning experiences, implement behavioral management techniques, and promote student independence and critical thinking.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop IEPs, ensuring measurable goals and objectives, monitor and document progress of student performance.
- Create progress reports related to IEP goals and objectives.
- Develop transition goals and activities utilizing transition assessments.
- Facilitate IEP meetings and contribute to evaluation team reports.
- Teach scheduled classes using various instructional techniques to address diverse learning styles, maintaining a thorough understanding of subject material.
- Provide specially designed instruction, supplemental instruction, and accommodations/modifications to students with disabilities
- Collaborate on student learning activities promoting positive peer relationships, self reliance and critical thinking.
- Uphold Board policies and administrative guidelines/procedures.
- Promote a professional image of the school district and encourage community partnerships.
- Maintain records of individual student contacts and uphold the student conduct code.
- Respect personal privacy and maintain confidentiality of privileged information.
- Ensure safety by monitoring and supervising students and report suspected child abuse or neglect.
- Participate in staff meetings, conferences, and other required school activities.
- Pursue growth opportunities enhancing professional performance.
- Serve as a positive role model, maintaining professional appearance and prompt notification of absences.
- Perform other job-related duties as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Ohio Department of Education license/certificate appropriate for the position.
- Transition to Work Endorsement preferred.
- Training and/or experience in behavioral management techniques and differentiated instruction.
- Stay updated with technology and workplace innovations supporting job functions.
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse client base.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Meets all mandated health requirements (e.g., negative tuberculosis test, etc.).
- Clean criminal record suitable for public school employment.
- Compliance with drug-free workplace rules and Board policies.
