Kitchen Manager

ABOUT ORIGINS 

Origins is a women-owned, family-operated greenhouse cafe, garden center & event venue dedicated to growing a healthy community through food. Founded in 2012, the mission of Origins is to bring positive change to the world through our food choices by supporting small family farmers, organic growing practices and ethical treatment of animals. Greenhouses lush with tropical plants, fragrant herbs and flowers create the dining room in an expansive facility accommodating over 100 guests. Origins serves a seasonal, ever changing menu for dinner, brunch, lunch, concerts, weddings and private events from May through October. 

 

HIRING: KITCHEN MANAGER + CHEF

 

ABOUT THE ROLE

You'll lead our kitchen through a full season of service, which includes seasonal lunch, dinner and special events. In collaboration with the kitchen team, you’ll help create menus that highlight the best seasonal ingredients. This is a hands-on leadership role: you'll cook alongside your team while overseeing operations, ordering, and quality. Lunch & brunch service run Wednesday through Sunday; seasonal dinners are served one - three times weekly, and private events are hosted most weekends. You'll work closely with ownership to shape the kitchen culture and systems.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate to create menu items inspired by locally available ingredients
  • Place food orders and manage inventory
  • Prepare menu items in cooperation with the kitchen team
  • Ensure quality and timeliness of food service
  • Comply with sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Help maintain a positive energy and respectful atmosphere in the kitchen

 

COMPENSATION

  • Starting at $24/hour
  • On-site housing available
  • Meals included
  • End-of-season bonus

 

SCHEDULE

  • Late April through late October
  • 40 hours / week
  • Schedule flexibility: Part-time possible for the right candidate
