Teacher Assistant
Royal Oak School, a well-established part of the community serving the North Hills area of Pittsburgh since 1967, is seeking personable, flexible, teacher assistants who have the desire to join a family-owned business where emphasis is placed on the educational needs of each individual child. The applicant will be tasked with assisting the lead teacher in creating a positive, caring, environment in the classroom where the student will be encouraged to build a foundation for lifelong learning. A person who can create a positive environment where each child can grow emotionally and socially at their own pace while at the same time being able to facilitate the students as they build their academic skills is the type of applicant we are looking for.
Our assistants will:
- Help in the development of classroom plans
- Facilitate the students with their self-help skills
- Help to keep the classroom safe and free of clutter
- Guide children in learning
- Interact with children in discussion
- Facilitate the children during safe play
- Challenge children with goals to strive for
- Maintain a respectful level of discipline to keep the children safe and the classroom orderly
- Be able to communicate positives and negatives with parents and coworkers

Wages:
Position could be part time/full time with an hourly rate of $16.50 for a BA/BS not in the field of Education or $18.00 for a BA/BS in Education. Salaried position available with a salary of $2772.00 for a BA/BS not in the field of Education or $2835.00 for a BA/BS in the field of Education.
