ARCHITECTURAL INTERNSHIP POSITION
Franco Noravian Design seeks energetic, self-motivated, detail-oriented individuals to join our team as an Intern or Project Architect. Candidates must have architectural design and technical skills along with the ability to handle a variety of tasks. At Franco Noravian Design you will work as part of a team to develop architectural designs and produce drawings and documentation throughout all project phases. Interns will have the opportunity for field visits that include client meetings, construction sites, and vendor meetings.
Schedule and hours are flexible depending on intern’s schedules. We require at least 8-10 hours per week commitment. Must work onsite in Glendale office.
Franco Noravian Design will assist intern architects to further their education and experience and provide a clear path towards graduation and their future path.
Job Description:
Typical responsibilities of this position are:
- Participate in client meetings to understand their needs and develop architectural solutions.
- Develop timely, high quality architectural designs, drawings and specifications from concept to final design.
- Produce conceptual renderings for project design and presentation.
- Prepare architectural construction documents and related specifications.
- Coordinate with other team members, engineers, consultants, and contractors.
- Research building codes, products, and other standards.
- Possess the desire and ability to learn, advance and grow in a team-oriented work environment.
Job Requirements:
Qualified candidates need to have the following competencies and experience:
- Enrolled in a B.Arch or B.A. Arch degree program- Sophomore, Junior or Senior
- Solid and proactive communication, interpersonal and organizational skills who are not afraid to ask questions and request assistance.
- Ability to plan, prioritize and organize simultaneous assignments and work under tight deadlines.
- Ability to be open-minded, take in different ideas and encourage teamwork.
- Desire to constantly self-educate and bring creative solutions to the process.
- Proficiency in the following software packages is preferred:
- AutoCAD, Revit or Chief Architect
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, or Illustrator
- 3D rendering packages
Compensation:
Hourly pay starts at $18, with annual raises based on performance and competency.
