Adventure Guide for Youth ages 12-18  
We are seeking a passionate, knowledgeable outdoor enthusiast to mentor and guide adolescents through meaningful outdoor experiences across Utah.  This role is ideal for someone who loves hiking, camping, exploring, teaching and one who believes in the healing, transformative power of nature.  If you are someone who sees the importance of service and giving back to their community, we'd love to hear from you.  The candidate must have strong knowledge of Utah's outdoor areas and terrain.  They must be patient, encouraging and have a safety-minded personality.  We work with adolescents ages 13-18 who are neurodivergent.  Our youth are in residential treatment at Maple Lake Academy. Job Duties:

  • Lead adolescent boys who are neurodivergent on outdoor adventures (hiking, fishing, camping, biking) and outdoor play.
  • Help youth build confidence through hands on learning, and creating
  • Foster respect for nature and responsible outdoor practices
  • Model leadership, resilience, and curiosity
  • First aid/wilderness first aid certification preferred
     

This is more than an outdoor role, it's an opportunity to help young people grow, build their confidence, develop resilience, and experience healing connection.    If you are adventurous and inspired to make a lasting impact in the lives of youth, we would love to have you out for a tour, and meet you to discuss further. Part Time Hours, potential for more hours with planned outings  Pay: $22-$25 an hour Education: High School or equivalent Wilderness experience is a must Schedule: Open for discussion beyond working Friday from 11AM to 5PM.  This is a new position with our program and one that will allow whoever takes this position to help create and develop this part of our program.  Up to 29.99 hours a week.
