The Focused Ultrasound Foundation (FUSF) is a unique, medical research, education, and advocacy organization created as the catalyst to accelerate the development and adoption of focused ultrasound. Based in Charlottesville, but with a global reach, the Foundation is a nonprofit, high-performance, entrepreneurial, service organization that is market-driven and results-oriented.

 

JOB SUMMARY

The Focused Ultrasound Foundation is seeking a summer intern to work with our FUS Partners and Communications teams on several projects related to industry communications. This is an exciting opportunity to gain broad exposure to the world of focused ultrasound through the lens of business writing, research, and data collection and management. 

This position requires full-time work in our Charlottesville-based office during the summer for a minimum commitment of eight weeks. The start and end dates are semi-flexible and will be discussed during the interview stage. Hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify current, valid email addresses for partners for any investors in the Salesforce database that are located in North American and Europe, requiring in-depth internet searches (not ChatGPT or an address look-up service) to find the emails.
    • Will receive Salesforce training
  • Compile a list of all companies/manufacturers and assess past newsletter coverage
  • Create interactive, time-saving platform for company profiles 
  • Perform a landscape analysis of the neuromodulation companies, assessing key factors like image guidance, clinical stage, and FDA approach. 
  • Write industry-related content for newsletter based on company press releases 
  • Suggest ways to liaison between FUS Partners and COMM

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in business, journalism, or related field
  • Familiarity with Word, Excel, Wordpress, CRM
  • An interest in focused ultrasound

 

EXPECTED OUTCOMES

  • A final presentation to the FUSF staff at the conclusion of the internship
