Event Rental Associate
EVENT RENTAL ASSOCIATE (PART-TIME):
Summary/Objective:
The event rental associate is a part-time role with responsibility for helping with event rentals and Mark Arts fundraising events. This position reports to the event rental manager.
This poition is available for immediate hiring.
Position Type, Expected Work Hours & Pay Rate
This is a part-time, hourly position with fluctuating work hours that vary, based on event bookings. Evening and weekend availability is required. The pay rate for this position is $15.00/hour.
Essential Functions:
- Familiarity with facility processes and procedures regarding event rentals including vendor access, vendor expectations, problem solving, temperature and lighting control
- Assist facility manager with checking in/out vendors
- Count visitors and record event attendance
- Assist Mark Arts staff with technology and check-in of guests
- During Mark Arts events, assist with food and beverage cleanup which includes emptying trash, wiping down tables, running commercial dishwasher, and drying and putting away glassware
- Basic cleanup as needed during events and rentals including sweeping, wiping spills
- Responsible for closing facility including securing the building and ensuring lights and thermostat are set appropriately
Skills & Abilities Required:
- Excellent customer service skills
- Able to work independently
- Strong verbal communication skills; comfortable interacting with all levels of management, staff, and the public
- Ability to handle time sensitive tasks and requests
- Solid problem solving and decision-making skills; ability to exercise good judgement in handling emergency situations and/or unruly individuals
- Ability to recognize a needed repair and report it to the supervisor
Education/ Experience Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must be 21 years or older
- 1+ year of experience working at events with 50-500 attendees

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
- This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and climbing.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 60 pounds up to 20 feet approximately three times per day.
- Ability to stand and walk at least six hours daily.
