Dance Teacher

BH2 STREAM School is seeking a passionate, energetic, and creative Dance Teacher to develop and lead a dynamic dance program for grades K–12. The ideal candidate will inspire scholars through movement, rhythm, and expression while building confidence, discipline, and performance skills.

This role is essential in helping scholars explore creativity through dance while supporting physical fitness, coordination, and artistic expression within the STREAM framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging dance instruction for grades K–12
  • Teach a variety of dance styles (e.g., contemporary, jazz, cultural, beginner ballet, and hip-hop)
  • Develop scholars’ technique, coordination, rhythm, and performance quality
  • Choreograph routines for school performances, showcases, and events
  • Prepare scholars for recitals, competitions, and special programs
  • Promote discipline, teamwork, and confidence through dance
  • Collaborate with music, theatre, and other arts programs for productions
  • Ensure a safe and structured environment for all movement activities
  • Organize rehearsals and performance schedules
  • Support school-wide events and initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Dance, Performing Arts, Education, or related field (preferred)
  • Teaching certification (North Carolina preferred or ability to obtain, if required)
  • Strong choreography and performance background
  • Knowledge of multiple dance styles and techniques
  • Strong classroom management and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
