Head Camp Counselor

Responsible for assisting the Camp Director in the administration of a comprehensive full day summer camp.  Works under the general direction of the Camp Director and/or the Asst. Recreation Manager.   

Responsible for assisting the Camp Director in planning camp activities; assisting in the daily operation of the camp program; supervising children and staff when necessary; performing inspections of camp facilities; chaperoning weekly trips; completing and/or reviewing daily paperwork; reviewing present programs and making recommendations for future programs; other duties as assigned. 

Minimum age requirement: 18 years old.  High school degree or equivalent.  Must have experience working with children.  Must successfully complete Town of Enfield-sponsored First Aid, CPR, Epi-Pen and Medication Administration certification programs.  Experience working with children with special needsdesired.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG TEST IS REQUIRED

Program dates: Monday – Friday, June 22, 2026 – August 7, 2026 (no 7/3/2026)  

Hours of work: 40 per week (hours of operation are Monday - Friday, 7:15 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.) additional pre-camp weeks are required. 

 Training: All employees are required to complete mandatory training before the season begins.  Training will  be held in June, dates TBD.  

Rates of pay: $18.75 - $19.75 hour, dependent on experience.
