A Better World is seeking one or two reliable and organized Summer Kitchen Interns to support our youth program by preparing daily meals for students attending summer camp. This is a paid internship opportunity ideal for individuals who enjoy cooking, working in a team environment, and contributing to a mission-driven organization that supports youth in the community. Depending on applicants’ skill and experience levels, we may hire either one intern to lead meal preparation or two interns who will share responsibilities. This is also a faith based Christian organization and applicants should be comfortable in that setting. 

The Summer Kitchen Intern(s) will help prepare dinner for approximately 60 children each day, Monday through Thursday. Meals are served at 4:00 PM, and preparation typically begins earlier in the afternoon. The position runs during our 7-week summer camp program in June and July.

Schedule:
Monday–Thursday, approximately 1:00 PM–5:00/6:00 PM (the center closes at 6:00 PM, so hours will not extend beyond that).

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook dinner for approximately 60 children each day
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment
• Assist with kitchen setup and cleanup
• Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines

A Better World provides the food budget for meals as well as a fully equipped kitchen with all necessary cooking supplies.

This internship offers a great opportunity to gain hands-on kitchen experience while making a meaningful impact by helping ensure that children in our program receive a healthy meal each day.
