JCS Cedar Cove is a TK–12 charter school located in Encinitas, California. For 25 years, Cedar Cove has served students through a unique hybrid instructional model: four days of in-person instruction and one home study day per week (TK–5).

For the 2026–27 school year, we are seeking an enthusiastic and collaborative teacher leader to serve our 2nd and 3rd grade classes and help continue developing and refining our growing bilingual program.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic, evolving program while working in beautiful coastal North San Diego County.

Position Overview

The Academy Teacher – Dual Immersion position provides students with a rigorous bilingual education that fosters:

• Fluency in both Spanish and English
• Biliteracy and academic excellence
• Cross-cultural understanding and global awareness

Requirements / Qualifications

Applicants must hold:

• A valid California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential
• Bilingual Authorization in Spanish (or equivalent recognized by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing)

• Copy of Transcripts (all completed college coursework; unofficial copies accepted)
• Current CPR/First Aid Certification
• OR written statement confirming certification will be obtained upon offer of employment
• Credential Copy
• Letter of Introduction
• Three (3) Letters of Recommendation
• Resume
• Current Negative TB Screening (dated within 6 months)
• OR written statement confirming TB clearance will be obtained upon offer

Preferred Experience

• Three to five years of teaching experience, preferably in a charter school setting
• Training in Cognitively Guided Instruction (CGI) Math
• Experience implementing Leader in Me / The Seven Habits framework
