Health & Wellness Coordinator (Part-Time)
Position Type: Part-Time (Afterschool & Summer Opportunities Available)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 2:30 PM – 6:30 PM, seasonal evening programs through 7:30 PM
Pay Range: $20–$25 per hour (based on experience)

Glen Cove Boys & Girls Club at Lincoln House is seeking an energetic and reliable Coordinator to work directly with youth ages 6–12 in an afterschool setting. This role focuses on youth development, nutrition education, fitness, emotional well-being, social-emotional learning, through implementation of BGCA’s programming including but not limited to; Healthy Habits, SMART Moves/Girls and Triple Play.
This is an excellent opportunity for candidates interested in childcare, recreation, coaching, physical education, or community-based youth programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead afterschool programs focused on health, fitness, and wellness
- Implement BGCA Programming; Healthy Habits (nutrition, physical activity, healthy lifestyles)
- Facilitate lessons, group games, low organized fitness, and recreational activities
- Supervise and engage youth in a safe, structured environment
- Promote social-emotional learning and positive behavior
- Maintain clean and organized program spaces and equipment
- Track attendance and support program reporting
- Collaborate with team members on youth programming and enrichment activities
Qualifications
- Minimum age: 18
- Experience in childcare, camp counseling, coaching, teaching, or youth programs preferred
- Background in health, fitness, physical education, or recreation a plus
- Strong classroom or group management skills
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Completion of background checks in compliance with NYS and BGCA standards
