Medical Scribe

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Medical Scribe to work directly with a Radiation Oncologist in a busy outpatient oncology practice in Snellville, GA. This role offers exceptional clinical exposure and is ideal for pre-med, pre-PA, or pre-health applicants seeking hands-on experience in oncology and longitudinal patient care.

The scribe will assist with real-time documentation of patient encounters, allowing the physician to focus on patient care. This is a unique opportunity to gain in-depth experience in cancer management, radiation treatment planning, and multidisciplinary care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Document patient encounters in real-time within the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Accurately record history of present illness (HPI), review of systems (ROS), physical exam findings, and treatment plans
  • Assist with documentation for new consultations, on-treatment visits (OTVs), and follow-up visits
  • Enter orders, labs, and imaging requests as directed by the physician
  • Track and update patient treatment courses, including radiation therapy details
  • Maintain strict patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
  • Coordinate with nursing and administrative staff to ensure efficient clinic flow

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or current student pursuing a degree in a health-related field preferred
  • Strong interest in medicine, oncology, or healthcare careers (pre-med/pre-PA strongly encouraged)
  • Excellent typing speed and accuracy
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Professional demeanor and strong communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with EMR systems (e.g., Epic)
  • Background in medical terminology
  • Availability for a minimum 1-year commitment preferred

Schedule

  • Clinic open: Monday–Friday (no weekends) 8am-5pm
