Position Overview

New Mind Wellness is seeking a Master’s level intern to support our adult Evening Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). This role offers hands-on experience in a collaborative, group-focused setting known for its creative, individualized, and human approach to care. Interns will be immersed in evening programming and gain meaningful clinical exposure with a diverse adult population.

Schedule

Monday–Thursday, 5:30 PM–8:30 PM
Summer 2026 start (flexible based on academic requirements)

Responsibilities

  • Co-facilitate process, psychoeducational, and skills-based groups
  • Support client engagement, participation, and overall milieu
  • Assist with intakes, assessments, and treatment planning as appropriate
  • Complete clinical documentation (group notes, DAP notes) in EHR
  • Collaborate with therapists, prescribers, and leadership team
  • Observe and support individual and family sessions when applicable
  • Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive therapeutic environment

Learning Opportunities

  • Intensive group therapy experience across varied clinical presentations
  • Exposure to CBT, DBT-informed skills, and creative/experiential interventions
  • Training in IOP-level clinical decision-making and treatment flow
  • Real-time feedback and supervision from experienced clinicians
  • Experience with documentation and workflow in a high-quality program

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a Master’s program in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field
  • Eligible for internship/practicum credit
  • Strong interpersonal skills and comfort in group settings
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred

  • Interest in higher levels of care (IOP/PHP)
  • Prior exposure to mental health or group facilitation
  • Organized, proactive, and open to feedback

Supervision

  • Weekly individual supervision with a licensed clinician
  • Ongoing support and mentorship from the clinical team

This is an unpaid internship. Ideal for students seeking a highly involved, hands-on clinical experience in a dynamic adult evening IOP setting.
