Research Associate - Climate Solutions, Sustainability & Impact Investing

Founded in 2020, QuiVive Global Advisory is a specialized placement agent / merchant bank structured to help asset managers and companies focused on climate solutions, sustainability and impact grow their firms exponentially. Our goal is to be a “force multiplier” for these funds and firms, helping them find and source capital to scale their strategies. 

Working within the framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), we work with premier firms and funds to match their purpose propelled performance with needed capital.  

QuiVive Global Advisory is seeking interns to serve as a "Research Associate - Climate Solutions, Sustainability & Impact Investing" to assist in mapping the ecosystem and opportunity set for various impact, sustainability and select energy transition / ESG strategies. This will include deep research of the universe -- including work on asset managers (venture capital, private equity, hedge fund, credit, long only equity, etc) and individual companies with strategies focused on one or more of the UN SDGs, as well as buyers/funders of those strategies (including but not limited to sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, public and corporate pension plans, endowments and foundations, outsourced chief investment officers, family offices and intermediaries, such as registered investment advisors and investment consultants). The internship will also include mapping impact and sustainability asset managers, networks, events and major publications.  

Another aspect of the internship is expected to include helping with marketing QuiVive Global Advisory and its clients to the world, including presentation materials, fund and company overviews, websites, and presence on LinkedIn and Instagram. Using AI and its many tools to help QuiVive’s clients are an evolving interest for the firm, and interns may be doing projects in this area as well.

It is expected that the "Research Associate - Climate Solutions, Sustainability & Impact Investing" will gain a deep understanding of the asset management industry with a unique focus on climate solutions, sustainability, impact and ESG investing. 

Primary responsibilities include: 

  • Writing research reports and performing due diligence on asset managers and individual companies focused on one or more of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals
  • Writing research reports and performing due diligence on buyers/funders, including but not limited to sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, public and corporate pension plans, endowments and foundations, outsourced chief investment officers, family offices and intermediaries, such as registered investment advisors and investment consultants
  • Analyzing data collected over the course of the internship and presenting key findings back to management
  • Possibly writing research content to be published on our website on topics important to our client base

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A friendly, collegial and professional attitude, as well as a high regard for ethics
  • A passion for climate solutions, sustainability, impact and ESG investing, our environment and the world in general
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong research, data collection, and data analysis skills, including following methodologies and protocols
  • Proficiency in general computer skills, including MS Office (Powerpoint, Excel, and Word) and G Suite (Google Sheets and Google Docs)
  • Proficiency in the new and evolving tools that use AI, such as Gemini, Claude & ChatGPT
  • Experience with CRM/database programs (we use Salesforce) is a bonus
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Solid time management skills, reliability, and ability to multitask
  • Eagerness to learn and willingness to ask for help 

Additional Details

  • Candidates should be available during regular business hours (Eastern Standard Time); however Interns will be given significant flexibility to complete tasks on whatever schedule works best for them
  • QuiVive Global Advisory is based in the Research Triangle (Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill) area of North Carolina, United States; however, we are a distributed organization and this internship is expected to be performed remotely
  • This is an ideal internship for students considering business careers in climate solutions, sustainability and impact investing, as well as asset management, investment banking and finance more broadly; corporate social responsibility; NGOs; foundations and endowments; and nonprofits and advocacy work around one or more of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals
  • This is an unpaid assignment; flexible around start date / end date; 5-10 hours per week
  • Those hired will need to use their own computers
