Summer 2026 Film & TV Development Intern

Likely Story is an independent film and television production company based in New York City. Some of our past films include FOXCATCHER, ENOUGH SAID and ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND; more recently, SOMEONE GREAT, THE HALF OF IT, I'M THINKING OF ENDING THINGS, THINGS HEARD & SEEN, IN THE HEIGHTS, and DO REVENGE, all of which are streaming on Netflix, as well as IN THE HEIGHTS on HBO Max, YOU HURT MY FEELINGS, EILEEN and FLORA AND SON.

We are seeking interns with a can-do attitude, strong reading skills, and a voracious appetite for film and television content who are excited to learn about the ins and outs of film development and the daily administrative tasks of a small but busy production company. Our interns' main task is reading scripts, books, and pilots and writing coverage, so we need interns who LOVE to read.

Please note that this internship will be fully remote.

We are seeking interns who can start mid-to-end of May for the Summer 2026 semester.

The internship would be mainly focused around script development and coverage. Interns would be expected to read and report on 4-5 titles a week, which could include scripts, books, articles, treatments and plays. 

Interns would be trained in how to read and analyze a script for the quality of its content, to estimate the size of the budget, its marketability to audiences, and how well it would fold into our company's brand. For our projects in development, interns would be welcome to read new script drafts as they come in.

Overall this is a great opportunity to get a taste of the actual work involved in producing a movie from the ground up, and seeing projects evolve throughout the production process through the theatrical release. We are a small company with a friendly and relaxed (but hard working) atmosphere. Rewarding relationships will be made and we do our best to make sure the experience is as helpful to the interns professional development as much as we appreciate the work they do for us.
