Position: Oboe Instructor (part-time)
Concord Community Music School (CCMS) is seeking a dynamic and experienced oboe teaching artist to join our collegial and creative faculty. This is an exciting opportunity to teach in a thriving community music school that values artistic excellence, collaboration, and joyful music-making for students of all ages and backgrounds. The Woodwind and Brass department currently includes nine dedicated and supportive faculty members who work closely together to serve students and families.
About the Role
The Oboe Instructor will teach private lessons, wind ensembles and may have opportunities to engage in special programs and performances at the Music School and outreach concerts in the community. Faculty at CCMS are encouraged to bring their creativity, curiosity, and unique musical voice into their teaching while contributing to a welcoming and student-centered learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Teach private oboe lessons for students of varying ages and levels
- Teach an oboe trio of adult students, and potentially lead other group classes and ensembles
- Collaborate with Wind Department Chair to support student growth and family communication
- Prepare students for recitals
- Complete progress reports for private lesson students in grades K-12 each semester
- Participate in the annual fall faculty meeting and Open House
- Explore opportunities to contribute to CCMS community initiatives and summer programs
Qualifications
- College degree in performance, pedagogy, or equivalent professional experience
- Demonstrated success teaching oboe students of diverse ages and abilities
- Ability to teach across multiple musical styles is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with students, families, and colleagues
START: June 2026
