Job description:
As the Waterfront Director at Paradise Farm Camps, you will hold a leadership level position and be responsible for the overall management of the pool, waterfront, lifeguards, and swim lessons. You will act as the head lifeguard and swim instructor on a daily basis for children ages 5-16. The Waterfront Director will assist Leadership Staff when planning and implementing additional camp activities and events after regular hours. Our camp program runs from June 22th to August 14th with one week of staff training prior to the start of camp.
Desired Qualifications:
- At least 21 years old
- Current Lifeguard Certification and WSI
- Training and experience in pool and other waterfront activities (canoeing)
- Ability to lead, relate and work with fellow staff
Responsible To: Executive Director
Management Responsibilities:
- Oversee the safe operation of the pool and waterfront.
- Work with Maintenance Director to create and implement a daily cleaning schedule.
- Manage lifeguards on the waterfront team.
- Implement and manage "stand rotation" to insure proper coverage.
- Direct camper swim tests and swim lessons.
- Create and lead regular in-service trainings for waterfront staff.
General Lifeguard Responsibilities:
- Monitor safety of all campers and staff at the pool and waterfront.
- Teach daily swim lessons for campers 5-8 years old.
- Model appropriate safe behavior and the camp values of Teamwork, Respect, Enthusiasm, and Kindness.
- Communicate with fellow waterfront staff members in developing a proactive approach to camper behavior management
- Conduct daily checks of equipment in area for safety & cleanliness, and notify the Maintenance Director as needed.
- Instruct campers and counselors in waterfront rules and emergency procedures as instructed during staff training.*
- Display and encourage respect for personal property, camp equipment, and facilities.
- Follow camp rules, regulations, and policies, including, but not limited to smoking, alcohol, and drug policies.
- Keep personal issues away from campers.
- Prepare for and actively participate in staff training, meetings, and supervisory conferences.
- Other duties as assigned.

License/Certification:
