                                           2026 Summer Internship

 

Star of the West Milling Co. is a company that works with various crops within 5 states and across continents, making us a unique place to work for. While we may be known for our flour mills, we work in agronomy and edible bean processing and have over 20 grain-handling locations! The goal of an internship at Star of the West is to provide a holistic and a personalized approach to all of Star of the West’s operations while receiving mentorship and hands-on experience. 

 

Required Qualifications:  

  • Must be currently attending an accredited 2-year or 4-year institution.  
  • Preferably a student who has at least one to two years of experience at a higher learning institution.   
  • Must be in a related agriculture degree or related field.  
  • A high level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others. 
  • Good oral and written communication skills. 
  • Knowledge or expertise in Microsoft Office Suite.  
  • Candidate must have the right to work in the US and not require current or future sponsorship. 
  • A resume and a cover letter outlining a specific location and interests. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Ability to learn new skills and accomplish goals outlined at the beginning of the internship.  
  • Ability to manage projects and coordinate multiple activities. 
  • Hardworking student with a good attitude.  
  • A student with (2) Years availability to continue to acquire new skills at Star of the West in a second-year internship.  

 

Physical Demands 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to: 

Sit/stand/walk as needed for extended periods of time. 

Stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. 

Stoop and/or bend to file documents or complete other office tasks. 

Occasionally required to move/lift up to 50 lbs.
