Field Superintendent
Role Overview
The Field Superintendent (FS), reporting directly to the Construction Manager (CM), is the boots-on-ground execution leader, responsible for daily site presence, documentation, quality assurance, and hands-on construction support. This role ensures work is completed safely, correctly, and in alignment with the Construction Manager’s direction.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain daily onsite presence or be onsite as directed by the Construction Manager
- Regularly communicate via phone, text, and/or email
- Response to electronic messages (text and email) within two working hours
- Proactive communication regarding issues, delays, or support needs
- Regular in-person meetings with park maintenance staff and the community manager
- Use CompanyCam, MileIQ or similar documentation tools daily
- Capture and upload photos documenting:
- Work in progress
- Completed scopes
- Deficiencies, punch items, or concerns
- Act as the onsite point of contact and provide site support for vendors and crews
- Perform basic construction tasks using MHIG-provided hand tools, including but not limited to:
- Installing light fixtures
- Installing skirting
- Caulking roof penetrations
- Installing dryer exhaust vents
- Completing minor corrective or punch work
- Enforce safety and quality standards on site
- Escalate issues, risks, and deficiencies promptly to the Construction Manager
Other Duties as Assigned
- Perform additional duties, tasks, or responsibilities as reasonably assigned by the Construction Manager in support of field operations, quality assurance, or project needs.
- Travel as-needed or directed by Construction Manager
Basic Qualifications
- Maintain ability to travel locally and regionally to job-site(s) as needed
- Proficient in basic technology, including smartphones, and basic computer applications
- Able-bodied and capable of lifting up to 50 lbs
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Professional appearance and conduct; clean, orderly, and timely
