Security Operations Technician Intern

This is an on-site, paid internship at the Waco Headquarter Office. Interns work 19 hours per week maximum. Internships can start at any time, but they may only last up to a full calendar year. Our Company will work directly with interns to make sure the internship prioritizes their class schedule and schoolwork.

 

This position is responsible for SecOps functions appropriate for the Technician Intern level.  This requires the ability to learn and perform one or more of the following functional areas:

  • Job Scheduling Operations
    • Scheduling and integrating jobs
    • Application controls
    • Balancing and distribution of data
  • Security Access Operations
    • Providing appropriate Data and User Security Access
    • Controlling, maintaining, and monitoring security access to the computer infrastructure and data repositories
    • Mainframe and Associated Systems Operations
    • Running and monitoring applications
    • Detecting application malfunctions and providing appropriate notifications
  • Code Migration Operations
    • Production path migration management
    • Test environment availability and readiness management
    • Code migration processes
  • Testing Operations
    • System test management and execution
    • Script and script catalog maintenance
    • Integration of testing with migrations

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY

  • Learn to effectively use software tools to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Learn to effectively use the functionality of PC, Mainframe and Web applications and tools to perform job responsibilities.
  • Assist in researching and resolving problems with applicable software.
  • Assist in researching, evaluating, developing and deploying operational solutions to meet business needs.
  • Assist in providing training to end users, when appropriate.
  • Assist in communicating with vendors and users for problem resolution, as needed.
  • Assist in creating and estimating task lists.
  • Update and resolve Helpdesk incidents/requests per established procedures.
  • Escalate problems to appropriate personnel, as needed.
  • Report status on assigned tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned.
