Dermatology Receptionist and Patient Ambassador

The Front Desk Receptionist / Patient Ambassador serves as the first point of contact for patients, delivering an exceptional and welcoming experience while ensuring efficient front office operations. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service, punctuality, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment. Ideal candidates are proactive, dependable, and demonstrate a desire to grow into leadership roles within the organization. We are seeking someone to start as soon as possible. Please note this is a full time- permanent position. 

Key Responsibilities

Patient Experience & Customer Service

  • Greet all patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a professional and positive first impression
  • Provide outstanding customer service by addressing patient needs, concerns, and inquiries promptly and courteously
  • Maintain a calm, solution-oriented approach when handling patient concerns or high-volume situations
  • Uphold patient confidentiality and professionalism at all times

Front Desk Operations

  • Check patients in and out accurately and efficiently
  • Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and required documentation
  • Collect copays, balances, and process payments in accordance with office policies
  • Answer and manage high-volume phone calls with professionalism and efficiency
  • Schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments while optimizing provider schedules

Attendance & Reliability

  • Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality; consistently arrive on time and ready to work
  • Demonstrate reliability and accountability in daily responsibilities
  • Support team coverage as needed to ensure smooth clinic operations

Attention to Detail

  • Ensure accuracy in patient registration, insurance verification, and data entry
  • Follow established protocols and workflows with precision
  • Identify and proactively correct errors or discrepancies

Multitasking & Workflow Management

  • Effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Prioritize responsibilities while maintaining a high level of service and accuracy
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient flow

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a clinical or medical office, preferably dermatology.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, and EMR systems
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills—both in person and by phone.
  • Professional demeanor, neat appearance, and positive attitude.
  • Proven punctuality, reliability, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

The role is a full time position Monday - Friday. Shifts are scheduled between both our offices located in Mclean and Vienna, Virginia.
